“Animals and Their Story” is a collection of photographs and stories that captures the unique journeys of remarkable animals. Through their struggles, triumphs, and everyday adventures, this book offers a glimpse into the resilience and spirit of the animal world. Each story is inspired by real creatures, capturing their personalities and the lessons they teach us. A special thank you to the Austin Zoo in Texas for allowing me to share the stories of their incredible rescued animals, whose journeys of survival and second chances inspire us all.

“Bengal Tiger”
(Panthera tigris tigris)
Zulema, DOB 06/27/2019
Zulema arrived at the Austin Zoo on March 27, 2020. She was rescued as part of a DEA raid on a property in southern Texas illegally housing other exotic animals. Zulema’s white coat is most likely due to her being crossbred by humans. White tigers are rare in the wild but can occur from inbreeding. Zulema is believed to be a cross between a Bengal and a Siberian (or Amur) tiger.
